Acupuncture

"Acupuncture provides maximum benefits without the dangerous side effects associated with many of the approaches of conventional medicine."

-William Michael Cargile, B.S., D.C., F.I.A.C.A., Chairman of Research for the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture has a special place in both modern and traditional health practices and physical therapy. Acupuncture is a technique for balancing the flow of energy in our body. This energy or life force — known as ‘qi’ (pronounced: chee) — is believed to flow through certain pathways (meridians) in our body.

How is Acupuncture carried out?

Acupuncture involves insertion of extremely thin needles in the skin at strategic points in the body. By inserting needles into specific points along the energy pathways or meridians in which the energy flows in the body, and the grind of our daily lives takes away, is brought back in to balance.

How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture originated in China thousands of years ago, but its popularity has grown exponentially during the past three decades within the United States. This happened due to the understanding of the numerous health benefits that it offers. Acupuncture points are seen by modern day practitioners as spots to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue.

Health benefits of Acupuncture

Acupuncture offers countless health benefits, some of which are as follows:

  • Acupuncture stimulation helps boost the activity of the body by restoring its natural balance and increasing blood flow.
  • It also acts as a painkiller for such problematic ailments as headaches, back pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, pinched nerves etc.

Testimonials

I know there is so much controversy between chiropractic and medical care, but if it were not for chiropractic I would still be in pain. A car accident left me with constant lower back pain. I tried everything from painkillers to preparing to have surgery. I heard stories from my friends who had surgery and to this day wish they never had it. So I decided to go to a chiropractor before the surgery and I am so thankful that I did. My back pains are gone and I am living my life to the fullest and pain free.
